Orion was purchased by Mile High Rescue from the CLA auction in Fort Collins, where his friendly, curious personality immediately stood out. After settling in at MHR, conversations with his previous owner revealed that while Orion had been started under saddle, he was unpredictable and prone to unseating riders.

As his care continued, MHR identified underlying medical issues that required several months of dedicated veterinary and farrier care before his training could safely resume. Once healthy, Orion proved to be green but willing, showing steady progress with patience and consistency.

Today, Orion has found the perfect partnership with a community member who continues to ride and train him through MHR’s lesson program. Together, they are growing and learning as low-level jumpers and pleasure riders, building trust every step of the way.
